Florida Shooting

Shooting laws across the United States vary by state and may or may not recognize other state licenses. Florida shooting laws allow for people to be issued a concealed handgun license after taking a class. To hunt you must obtain a permit with the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission .

Guns must be registered and vehicle-carrying permits allow shooters to carry a weapon in a holster that is in plain view. The holster must have a snap for it to be considered legal. A person with a vehicle-carrying permit can also have the weapon in the vehicle if it is ‘securely encased’. This means that it can be carried in a glove compartment, in a snapped holster, in a gun case, a zippered gun case, or any container that has a lid and must be opened. These regulations are set throughout the state and a carrying permit is valid with the exception of special areas such as schools and hospitals.

You are allowed to carry the weapon in your vehicle, without a concealed carrying permit, if it is not ‘readily accessible’. In addition, gun licenses from other states are recognized and as long as you are at least 21 years of age. Carrying a weapon in public is not permitted. The exception to this is if you are carrying your firearm while hunting, camping, target shooting, fishing, or going to and from these places.

Convicted felons are not allowed to to carry weapons or posses a firearm unless civil rights have been returned and the felon is no longer under probation. Drug addicts, vagrants, and the mentally challenged are also not allowed to use, own, or possess a firearm.

Great locations for Florida shooting are along the Gulf Coast and are found throughout the state. The state of Florida is divided into four zones that allow hunting at different times of the year. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission sets up the schedule for the various activities that are allowed at designated hunting zones.

Whitetail deer, waterfowl, and bobcats are all allowed to be hunted as long as they are in season. Quail and squirrels can also be hunted during the appropriate season. Wild hogs, rabbits, raccoons, opossums, skunks, nutrias, beavers and coyotes are hunted throughout the year. There is no limit to how many of these animals you can bag since they plentiful and hunting them thins out the population.

Florida shooting offers a variety of animals to hunt and is open season year round. There is always some shooting activity that is going on during the year to keep you busy. In addition, the beauty of Florida will leave you with memories that you will cherish forever.
